Feasibility Ceilings Before Learning: Sizing and Timing Bounds for Drone-Mesh Interception

Dmytro Babarytskyi

Abstract摘要

A mesh of interceptors defending a fixed site must spread over the predicted arrival point of an approaching object. This is a recurring task in multi-agent robotics: N agents, each covering a disc of radius r, spread over a probability density so that a point drawn from it falls within some agent's disc. We give closed forms for the quantities that bound performance before any policy is chosen, and validate each by Monte Carlo. The uncertainty of a point predicted by extrapolating a noisy linear track follows from least-squares variance propagation plus a delta-method term for the uncertain …

SafeDriveVLA: Navigation-Conditioned World Model Dreaming for Conflict-Aware End-to-End Autonomous Driving

Shaoyuan Xie, Zihan Zhang, Jingxuan Wang, Jiashu Qu et al.

Abstract摘要

Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models are gaining attention in autonomous driving, inheriting commonsense priors from large language models (LLMs) and widening the navigation interface from a fixed command set to free-form natural-language instructions. However, this open-ended interface exposes a new vulnerability surface: an inattentive driver may issue instructions that are unsafe given the current scene, and a malicious user may issue dangerous ones on purpose. We present the first benchmark suite that evaluates navigation following and conflict awareness together, along with adversarial …

Towards Agentic Robots: Model, Data, Environment, and Harness

Chonghan Qin, Dongming Wu, Kaituo Feng, Jiaxu Wang et al.

Abstract摘要

Foundation models are driving a paradigm shift in robotic intelligence, moving beyond low-level action prediction to goal-directed orchestration of data collection, model training, task planning, and real-world execution. We characterize this emerging paradigm as an agentic robots, in which agents reason over human instructions, interact with robotic environments, rectify execution errors autonomously, and dynamically adjust operational strategies. Although this field develops fast, current studies are not well connected. Researchers have no consistent view of how to combine different agentic …

MorphAct: Robot Policies Morphing with the Worlds They Act In

Ziyan Liu, Jiting Liu, Weihong Zhong, Wenda Yu et al.

Abstract摘要

Progress toward general intelligence in the physical world requires scaling robot learning across diverse environments and interactions. However, existing robot policies use shared parameters that remain fixed across interaction contexts. When different operations favor competing parameter adjustments, fitting their mixture can leave individual operations insufficiently adapted. Our atomic-task diagnostics reveal competing update directions in both vision-language and action parameters, with source-improving updates increasing loss on other tasks. This motivates MorphAct, a contextual …

What Happens to the Goal? Distinct Failures of Policy Alignment in Goal Misgeneralization

Julia Barth, Armin Sommer, Kunvar Thaman, Jannik Schilling

Abstract摘要

Goal misgeneralization is a common failure mode in which an agent behaves competently out of distribution but does not pursue the intended goal. However, we still have a weak understanding of what happens to the intended goal in misgeneralizing agents. Across three Procgen environments and five robot tasks, we find three distinct forms of policy-goal misalignment: (1) functional target substitution, where behavior follows an alternative goal, (2) a policy shortcut, where behavior follows a learned action strategy, and (3) cue competition between intended and proxy goal cues. We distinguish …

Cracking Mobile Manipulation: From Failure Diagnosis to Agentic Robot System

Zixuan Wang, Jia-Ning Li, Yinzhou Tang, Yanzhao Yu et al.

Abstract摘要

Recent vision-language-action (VLA) models have shown strong performance on local robot manipulation, yet their success does not readily translate to long-horizon mobile manipulation. In our experiments, a pretrained subtask VLA achieves 80% success rate on atomic manipulation tasks but only 19% when these skills are composed into mobile manipulation. We argue that this gap stems from failures across the execution process rather than from local manipulation capability alone. To uncover these bottlenecks, we systematically diagnose failures in long-horizon mobile manipulation and identify …

Seeing, Maintaining, and Learning: The Evolution of Multimodal Agent Memory

Minghao Guo, Qingyue Jiao, Xiujin Liu, Jianhong Pang et al.

Abstract摘要

Multimodal models and agents have emerged to enable AI systems to learn from and interact with the real world more like humans by integrating information across multiple modalities. However, enabling multimodal agents to continually acquire useful information from complex, heterogeneous multimodal data remains a significant challenge as they move toward long-horizon tasks and lifelong settings. Addressing this challenge requires effective memory mechanisms that can maintain continuity across sessions, adapt to changing users and environments, and refine memory-management policies through …

MoCaP: Mobile Code-as-Policies for Zero-Shot Mobile Manipulation from Passive Human Videos

Yiyang Cai, Tatsuya Kamijo, Ninghao Lu, Zijin Hu et al.

Abstract摘要

Passive human videos of everyday activity offer robots access to a massive amount of human experience without requiring a demonstration for each task. However, using this experience requires recovering knowledge from unstructured video recordings and adapting it to a different body (i.e., the robot). To overcome these challenges, we present mobile code-as-policy (MoCaP), an agentic framework that turns passive human video recordings into guidance for an end-to-end mobile manipulation policy. MoCaP extracts spatial memory and cues of how people prepare to interact with objects, which inform …

When a robot can trust reversing wind to find an odour source

Junlong Shen, Shunsuke Shigaki

Abstract摘要

A wind-derived heading can guide a robot towards an odour source even after the wind reverses, but its reliability depends on the plume's transport history. On a quadruped initially facing the source, holding the initial heading reached it in every reversing-wind trial, whereas comparison controllers never settled there. An exact geometric condition links heading correctness to net odour transport, and simulations separate sensing error from departures from nominal flow. Where the alternating wind directions are too close for reversal alone to produce wrong-side headings, the wrong-side rate …

SOMA: Stack-of-Objects Manipulation using a Quadruped Robot

Stergios E. Bachoumas, Panagiotis Artemiadis

Abstract摘要

Executing heavy-duty physical manipulation in unpredictable environments remains a major challenge for quadrupedal robots lacking dedicated manipulators. This paper presents SOMA, a hierarchical reinforcement learning framework for whole-body non-prehensile manipulation of multi-object stacks using a quadruped robot. Unlike traditional methods restricted to two-dimensional planar pushing, SOMA integrates explicit robot base-height control, unlocking full three-dimensional pushing strategies. This capability enables the quadruped to manipulate complex payload stacks as a unified system while …

Line-Augmented cuVSLAM: Robust Visual Odometry in Low-Texture Environments

Dara Molloy, Terry Wu, Wonju Lee, Abhilash Nand Kumar et al.

Abstract摘要

Autonomous mobile robots in warehouses and production facilities operate in precisely the environments that defeat point-feature visual odometry: featureless aisles, uniform walls, repetitive racking and specular floors. Such environments are, however, rich in straight-edge structure: rack uprights, door frames, wall junctions and cabinet outlines present high-contrast linear edges stable across wide viewpoint changes. A line-feature extension to cuVSLAM, a CUDA-accelerated visual-SLAM system, is presented that recovers this signal. Lines are parameterised as Plücker coordinates for geometric …

Adaptive Prescribed Performance Trajectory Tracking for Uncertain Autonomous Underwater Vehicles With Input Saturation

Athanasios K. Gkesoulis, Christos Vlachos, George K. Fourlas, Charalampos P. Bechlioulis et al.

Abstract摘要

Accurate trajectory tracking is essential for autonomous underwater vehicles operating with uncertain hydrodynamics and limited thruster authority. This paper develops a low-complexity adaptive prescribed performance controller for uncertain underwater vehicle dynamics with coupled and saturated inputs. The proposed method adapts the performance functions directly through the mismatch between the requested and saturated control inputs, enlarging the performance funnels only when the available actuation cannot meet the nominal specifications. A coupled invariant-set analysis establishes …

LEAP: Gradient Flow Augmented Lagrangian Trajectory Optimization for Contact Constrained Robots

César E. Ramos Chuquiure, Ryan Tsai, Yutong Zhou, Zihang Huang et al.

Abstract摘要

Generating dynamically feasible motions for legged and manipulating robots requires solving a large, nonlinear, non-convex optimal control problem (OCP) in which contact wrenches must satisfy friction-cone constraints throughout the motion, not only at isolated instants. Existing solvers are sensitive to the initial guess and scale poorly with the number of joints. This paper introduces LEAP, which transcribes the OCP with pseudospectral collocation and, instead of a Newton or SQP solve, integrates a primal--dual gradient flow of a Powell--Hestenes--Rockafellar augmented Lagrangian to compute …

Planning to Learn: Real-Time Robust Adaptive Control on the GPU with Guaranteed Future Learning

Anutam Srinivasan, Siddhant Panse, Glen Chou

Abstract摘要

Robust adaptive control is vital for keeping robots safe while actively reducing uncertainty in unfamiliar settings. However, traditional methods are often conservative since they fail to account for guaranteed future parameter learning during planning and struggle to scale to high-dimensional systems. In this work, we present A-SLS, a learning-aware robust adaptive model predictive control (RAMPC) framework based on system-level synthesis. A-SLS forecasts future parameter uncertainty and preserves correlations between process disturbances, parameter error, and estimate updates to construct …

EgoJEPA: Beyond Retargeting for Dexterous Manipulation from Egocentric Videos

Meng Cao, Can Zhao, Jinjie Wei, Haonan Zhao et al.

Abstract摘要

Egocentric human videos offer a scalable alternative to costly robot demonstra- tions, yet transferring their manipulation priors to robot control remains chal- lenging. The commonly adopted retargeting-based approaches convert human wrist and finger poses into embodiment-specific action commands through hand- crafted geometric mappings. However, such mappings require meticulous recal- ibration across different embodiments and risk propagating hand-tracking errors into downstream robot control pipelines. To this end, we propose EgoJEPA, a three-stage framework that learns embodiment-agnostic …

TGrasp6D: Task-Informed Vision-Language Priors and Pose Refinement enable Zero-Shot Task-Oriented 6DoF Grasping

Manav Kulshrestha, Apoorva Vashisth, Damon Conover, Aniket Bera

Abstract摘要

Task-Oriented Grasping (TOG) has emerged as an important skill for purposeful robotic manipulation. Given the task of using a knife to "slice bread," a robot must choose to grasp from the handle, whereas for "hand[ing] the knife over," it is preferable for the handle to remain unobstructed for safe handoff. Current approaches for TOG either focus on 2D planar grasping, remain limited by their reliance on task-agnostic grasp generators, or are constrained by reliance on finite, manually-annotated, task-specific grasp datasets that cannot cover all possible grasp-task pairs. To that end, we …

BubbleCBF: Constructive Safety for Second-Order Systems and Application to Autonomous Robot Navigation in Unknown Environments

Mani Amani, Mohammed Alyaseen, Zhirui Dai, Ki Myung Brian Lee et al.

Abstract摘要

Satisfying safety constraints for systems with second-order dynamics is challenging because a position constraint may require infeasible deceleration. Higher-order control barrier functions (CBFs) provide an approach for expressing safety conditions for such systems but feasibility depends on the system dynamics and available control authority. We develop a constructive approach for designing feasible safety constraints for second-order control-affine systems. Starting from a signed distance function (SDF), we construct collision-free spheres, i.e., bubbles, in position space, and use their …

Optimally Trading Energy for Information through Speed Trajectory Optimization of Sustainably Powered Mobile Robots

Kavin M. Govindarajan, Dimitra Panagou, Chris Vermillion

Abstract摘要

Sustainably powered mobile robots enable long-duration observational missions by harvesting energy from the environment. However, effective autonomy requires the robots to make decisions as to how to allocate this energy to maximize information quality over time. In this paper, we study a persistent (infinite-horizon) speed trajectory optimization problem that is posed as a periodic optimal control problem in which a robot repeatedly traverses a fixed closed path, coupling a super-linear propulsion cost with dynamic information gain and decay. Using the information-theoretic quantity of …

Race to Recovery: Designing Advanced Safety Systems for Autonomous Driving via Learning Autonomous Racing

Teodor Ilie, Kleber Cabral, Sidney Givigi

Abstract摘要

Vehicles that lose control at the handling limit through icing, hydroplaning, or an abrupt evasive maneuver fall outside the operating envelope of production safety systems such as electronic stability control, which focus on preventing instability rather than recovering from it. Expert drivers regain authority in these conditions by drifting. Existing autonomous recovery approaches are validated on idealized scenarios, define "recovered" states empirically and inconsistently, or rely on offline-planned trajectories rather than acting online. We address these gaps by first training a racing …

This paper presents a comprehensive methodology, backed by simulation and experimental results, for an adaptive mission planning strategy that is mathematically grounded in the maximization of the information-driven quantity of clarity. In particular, the methodology introduced in this work addresses the use of sustainably powered autonomous surface vessels (ASVs) to perform scientific missions that prioritize locations of maximum interest. Because these locations of maximum interest are not known a priori but are rather identified based on in-situ measurements, online adaptation is essential …

Abstract摘要

Realistic traffic simulation and autonomous planning both depend on modeling interactions among heterogeneous road users whose dynamics, constraints, and behaviors differ fundamentally. Existing approaches predominantly learn realistic interaction behavior from large-scale human driving demonstrations. In this work, we ask whether such behavior can instead emerge purely through self-play. We present SHRED, a framework that jointly trains vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists through large-scale heterogeneous self-play from random initialization, without demonstrations or logged-trajectory …

A Phenomenology of Neural Geometry in Vision-Language-Action Models

Mozes Jacobs, Aiden Swann, Mathilde Papillon, Siddharth Boppana et al.

Abstract摘要

Robotic manipulation is inherently geometric, but what shape does the world take inside the policy that performs it? Prior work on vision-language-action (VLA) policies establishes that task-relevant variables are linearly readable from activations, yet readability certifies only that a variable is present and says nothing about the shape its values trace, which may be curved and multi-dimensional. Using controlled sweeps, natural rollouts, linear probes, and activation interventions, we build a taxonomy of seven task-relevant concepts in VLA models. We find that realized geometry is …

Persistent Profile-Guided Reset-Free Recovery Improves Final Gait Selection after Irreversible Leg Damage

Minjoong Kim

Abstract摘要

Damage-recovery algorithms often rank gaits from short trials, yet a gait that performs well briefly may not remain effective during continued execution. In reset-free recovery, each trial also changes the physical state inherited by the next. We introduce persistent profile-guided reset-free recovery (PGRR), which predicts multiple outcomes over repeated gait execution and uses conservative uncertainty-aware estimates to guide short online probes without resetting the robot. Across 108 matched MuJoCo tasks spanning leg amputation, distal fracture, and joint lock, PGRR improves final quality …

Robotic-supported Data Loss Detection in Android Applications

Davi Freitas, Breno Miranda, Juliano Iyoda

Abstract摘要

Smartphones have become integral to modern life due to their diverse applications. However, the development of applications for these devices faces significant challenges, primarily due to two factors: (i) the diverse hardware and operating system versions that require testing across multiple configurations; and (ii) the imperative activity of testing the smartphone in a non-invasive way (similar to an end-user interaction), which is expensive, tedious and error-prone as it is usually carried out manually. In this context, robotic automation has emerged as an effective solution for addressing …

Navigation by Skylight Polarization via Rayleigh Model Optimization on a Road Vehicle

Ben Potter, Eslam Mounier, Aboelmagd Noureldin, Yahia Antar et al.

Abstract摘要

Reliable absolute heading estimation is critical for road-vehicle navigation, particularly when magnetic, inertial, or GNSS-based references are degraded. This paper presents a skylight polarization navigation method that estimates vehicle heading by globally optimizing a Rayleigh sky model against measurements from a division-of-focal-plane polarimetric camera. The proposed framework combines a pinhole camera model, a single-scattering Rayleigh polarization model, and a solar position algorithm to synthesize the expected full image angle of polarization distribution for candidate vehicle …

Multi-Dimensional Featurizers Yield Fine-Grained Steering and Data Shaping in Robot Foundation Models

Aiden Swann, Mozes Jacobs, Mathilde Papillon, Siddharth Boppana et al.

Abstract摘要

Can better feature discovery improve control over robot behavior through internal interventions and training data? Recent work in vision and language models reveals multidimensional features, motivating block-sparse featurizers (BSFs), which represent each feature in a low-dimensional subspace. We investigate whether recovering this structure provides an interpretable interface for steering vision-language-action models and shaping the data from which they learn. We show that BSFs recover several multi-dimensional task-relevant features underlying the model's computation (e.g., perception, …

When Reality Outpaces Cognition: A New Scaling Principle for Reliable Intelligence

Ahsan Adeel, Talha Bin Riaz

Abstract摘要

This paper challenges the understanding capabilities of existing AI paradigms and emerging world models by asking a fundamental question: How quickly can reality change before an intelligent system can no longer reliably perceive, reason, and act? We formulate this as a theory- and model-agnostic challenge in which systems must infer reliable actions for increasingly distant future states across a growing observation--reality gap. We operationalize this challenge through the effective Speed of Coherent Cognition (\(S_C^{\mathrm{eff}}\)), defined as the highest tested Speed of Reality …

Causal Analysis of Robot Foundation Models Enables Efficiency Gains

Aiden Swann, Mathilde Papillon, Mozes Jacobs, Siddharth Boppana et al.

Abstract摘要

Vision-language-action (VLA) models are a promising approach to general purpose robot manipulation. While the internal computation of vision-language models, which compose the backbone of VLAs, has been studied extensively, less is known about how their perceptual and semantic representations are transformed into action in VLA models. We study this question mechanistically in three frontier VLA models ($π_{0.5}$, MolmoAct2, and MolmoBot) by analyzing the causal pathways through which the input image and the instruction shape actions. Across the three models, activation patching shows that …

Hierarchical Residual Policy Learning for Real-World Mobile Manipulation with Sparse Human Guidance

Zhefei Gong, Hefeifei Jiang, Zehao Wang, Jiachen Li

Abstract摘要

Mobile Manipulation (MoMa) is a cornerstone of autonomous robotic systems, yet real-world fine-tuning remains a formidable challenge because of high-dimensional action spaces and intricate coupling between heterogeneous modules. In this paper, we propose HiRe-MoMa (Hierarchical Residual Mobile Manipulation), a systematic framework for stable and sample-efficient real-world fine-tuning of complex MoMa systems. At its core, HiRe-MoMa adopts a Hierarchical Residual Architecture that fine-tunes a frozen base policy. A Policy-Agnostic Residual learns additive corrections atop the base policy, …

Modeling and Understanding Neural Weights of Humanoid Policies with Diffusion

Abstract摘要

Recent advances in robot learning have driven rapid progress in humanoid control, enabling increasingly agile behaviors in the real world. However, humanoid control networks are typically obtained through conventional training procedures, while comparatively little attention has been given to directly modeling the distribution of their learned weights and generating functional networks in weight space. In this work, we investigate whether high-performing humanoid control networks can be generatively modeled directly through their weights. We adopt a latent diffusion framework that couples a …

PingpongDuo: Agile Humanoid Table Tennis Doubles with Safe Team Coordination

Abstract摘要

Unlike singles, humanoid table tennis doubles requires teammates to strike in strict alternation while sharing a confined workspace. Rapid repositioning can compromise striking accuracy, while uncoordinated teammate movements introduce collision risks. We present PingpongDuo, a hierarchical framework for agile humanoid doubles with safe team coordination. At the team level, a planner jointly selects positioning targets and uses learned risk estimates to filter risky proposals, preferentially preserving the current striker's target. Abstract摘要

We present KinoGen, a framework that synthesizes customizable humanoid loco-manipulation references through kinematically grounded video generation. KinoGen conditions a pretrained video generator on calibrated renders of the target robot and object in a simulated task instance and recovers the reference by fitting the same models to the generated two-view video, so that the reference lies in the robot configuration space by construction without a human body proxy or retargeting. Body, hand, and object priors initialize the reconstruction, and direct optimization against cross-view evidence …

EarlyCommit: Calibrated Word-by-Word Commitment for Robots Acting Before You Finish Speaking

Muhammad Haris Khan

Abstract摘要

Human listeners can often identify the intended object several words before an instruction ends. Robots, however, are typically designed to wait until the speaker has finished before deciding how to act. We present EarlyCommit, an open-source tool that lets a robot commit to the intended object while the instruction is being spoken. After every recognized word, a fine-tuned text encoder scores each object in the scene. The robot acts when the calibrated probability of the best object reaches a threshold tau set by the user, so 1 - tau is the accepted risk of choosing the wrong object. …

Physical Time as a Missing Dimension of Robot Policy Memory Dynamics

Yushen Liang, Yue Peng, Baosheng Jin, Tianluo Zhang et al.

Abstract摘要

Existing robot policy memories typically evolve with observation sequences, implicitly treating each update as the same amount of physical time. Yet identical observation histories can span different durations and require different actions, exposing physical time as a missing dimension of policy memory. We introduce Temporal Flow Policy (TFP), which learns memory dynamics to retain past events and evolve the memory state over measured time intervals. Observations and prior memory determine the content and time scales of each transition; elapsed time determines how far the state advances. TFP …

Graph-Reweighted Behavior Cloning with Human Interventions for Precise Robotic Manipulation

Xiaoman Li, Zhiqiang Yang, Jiayu Hu, Jipeng Kong et al.

Abstract摘要

Long-horizon precise manipulation produces mixed-quality data for post-training vision-language-action (VLA) models: even successful demonstrations and intervention-assisted rollouts may contain detours, hesitations, failed attempts, and imperfect recoveries. The key challenge is to identify which action chunks actually advance the task, rather than uniformly cloning or discarding imperfect trajectories. We propose Graph-Reweighted Behavior Cloning (GR-BC), an offline iterative post-training framework that builds a task-conditioned goal-reachability graph over demonstrations and iteratively …

Towards Certifiable State Estimation under Observability Degeneracy

Baoshan Song

Abstract摘要

Certifiable optimization provides global optimality guarantees for non-convex state estimation in robotics. However, under severe physical sensing degeneracy, convex Semidefinite Programming relaxations solved via Interior-Point Methods suffer from rank expansion, rendering direct semidefinite solving and spectral rounding algebraically invalid. In this paper, we establish a universal candidate-driven dual certification framework that resolves this challenge without incurring rank expansion. First, from an epigraph perspective, we prove that while sensing degeneracy expands the primal optimal …

Tiered-Resolution Volumetric Mapping for Real-Time Simultaneous Planning and Mapping on Natural Outdoor Environments

Afonso E. Carvalho, David Portugal, Paulo Peixoto, George Kantor

Abstract摘要

Real-time volumetric mapping for a planning robot is dominated by the cost of integrating and storing information at the finest resolution, yet only a small fraction of any map ever lies on or near a path the planner actually considers. We exploit this with a tiered-resolution mapping mechanism that integrates LiDAR into a single map structure at two resolutions simultaneously: fine inside a corridor around the robot's current plan, and coarse everywhere else. As opposed to traditional navigation pipelines where path planning uses the mapping result and provides no feedback, we propose a …

AdaRSI: On-Demand Recursive Self-Improvement for Embodied Agents

Peidong Wang, Ying Chang, Zhiming Ma, Xiaocui Yang et al.

Abstract摘要

Pretrained vision-language-action models (VLAs) often fail midway through unseen long-horizon tasks. Recursive self-improvement (RSI) offers a remedy, but embodied RSI methods either refine the harness around a frozen executor and so cannot add a missing motion, or train the executor on persistent failures without asking whether a failure lies in how the executor is called or in what it can do. We ask when a self-improving embodied system should change the weights of its executor, and propose AdaRSI, an on-demand RSI framework for embodied agents. A coding agent first improves its skills and …

DD-GBP: Anytime Multi-Arm Planning and Continuous Execution via Distributed Dynamic Gaussian Belief Propagation

Abstract摘要

Safely executing long-horizon multi-arm tasks online in complex dynamic environments remains challenging. We propose a new distributed dynamic Gaussian belief propagation (DD-GBP) method that directly plans joint-space trajectories through parallel local inference. A unified Gaussian-process (GP) parameterization connects adaptive planning horizons, interpolation-time factors, and continuous execution. Each robot maintains a local tree-structured factor graph and exchanges messages asynchronously over active inter-arm links. Dynamic subnet reconstruction and event-triggered updates reduce …

When Do Discrete Actions Make Good Continuous Controllers?

Zeji Yi, Soham Dasgupta, Xinyang Zhang, Koushil Sreenath et al.

Abstract摘要

Though modern AI models like LLMs predict discrete tokens, today's robotic foundation models represent actions as continuous vectors. In this paper, we challenge this common consensus by asking if continuous action parametrizations are superior to their discrete counterparts. We conduct an extensive comparison of single-step regression and multi-step flow variants of both continuous and discrete policies in both from-scratch single-task and multi-task VLA training, in both simulation and on real hardware. In all regimes, we find that discrete action prediction, even the most naive, …

Human Demonstrations as Post-Training Data for Any Robot Body: Retargeting the Object, Not the Hand

Nagasrikanth Kallakuri

Abstract摘要

Human demonstrations are today used largely for pretraining vision-language-action models, with little ability to use the same data for target-embodiment or task-oriented training, which scalable deployment of robots in industrial and general environments depends on. A human demonstration recorded on a simple and scalable device such as a mobile phone can serve as post-training data for a robot whose body differs in structure and capability from the human who recorded it. This is made possible not by retargeting the hand's motion but the object's. A capture yields a body-free record: the …

Efficient Test-Time Adaptation For Robot Policies

Abstract摘要

Reinforcement-learning policies for robot locomotion can fail at deployment when operating conditions shift (e.g., rough or slippery terrain, payload changes, sensing degradation), and retraining or manual recalibration is often infeasible under on-device latency and memory constraints. We study test-time adaptation (TTA) for robotic control: adapting a pretrained policy online and in a self-supervised manner during execution, without access to rewards. Abstract摘要

Vision-Language Models (VLMs) have made substantial progress in spatial reasoning, and self-evolving agents further extend these capabilities to embodied environments by learning from interactions. However, current self-evolution remains particularly challenging in embodied spatial tasks, complex and multi-step decisions from partial visual evidence making it difficult to determine why an execution fails. The failure may stem from misperception, insufficient exploration, or incorrect planning, yet execution feedback alone rarely reveals which component is responsible. As a result, simply …

Learning-Based Adaptive MPC for Magnetorquer-Only Satellite Attitude Control

Abstract摘要

Nanosatellites (e.g., CubeSats) have the potential to carry out useful science and exploration activities for outer solar system exploration, but their small size leads to tradeoffs between attitude control and science capabilities. Magnetorquers offer a unique compromise as compact actuators that enable three-axis attitude control, but suffer from a loss of control authority and require full knowledge of the planetary magnetic field. In this work, we present a learning-based adaptive model predictive control (MPC) algorithm that plans rotational trajectories for the satellite while …

Safe Reinforcement Learning with Receding-Horizon Safety Critic and Differentiable Action Shields

Siwei Ju, Jan Peters, Oleg Arenz

Abstract摘要

Despite the Markov assumption, safety failures in robot reinforcement learning rarely occur instantaneously; they typically emerge over several steps as the policy enters unfamiliar states under disturbances and domain shift. We address this limitation by learning a receding-horizon safety critic that predicts whether a state will remain non-terminating over the next receding horizon, enabling anticipatory detection of impending locomotion failures. The critic is trained from rollout-derived horizon labels with a composite objective that combines horizon classification, …

The setting of the problem consists of a polygonal domain $\mathcal{W}$ with $n$ vertices and $k$ robots $R_1,\dots,R_k$ translating in $\mathcal{W}$ each of which is represented by a polygon of constant complexity. Given a source configuration $\mathbf{s}$ and a target configuration $\mathbf{t}$ of the robots in $\mathcal{W}$, the goal of the problem is to find a collision-free motion plan from $\mathbf{s}$ to $\mathbf{t}$ that is shortest with respect to some cost function. We present the first fully …

Learning Navigation from Multimodal Demonstrations with Geometric Candidate Modes

Chengyang Peng, Zhihao Zhang, Upama Pant, Yiming Wang et al.

Abstract摘要

Offline navigation demonstrations are multimodal, because one observation often allows several valid actions, such as passing an obstacle on either side. Behavior cloning averages these actions, potentially leading to unsafe routes. Multimodal policies must discover the alternatives from the data, but similar states can lead to different routes whose current actions overlap. In navigation, the alternatives have a geometric cause and can be computed from one observation. We propose a hierarchical neural-network policy that computes candidate modes from local geometry and learns from …

Smart Fusion for Adaptive Visual-IMU Weighting in cuVSLAM Sparse Bundle Adjustment

Wonju Lee, Dara Molloy, Abhilash Nand Kumar, Onias Castelo et al.

Abstract摘要

In cuVSLAM, visual and inertial measurement unit (IMU) residuals are fused in sparse bundle adjustment (SBA) with a weighting fixed by pre-calibrated noise covariances, leaving no mechanism to adapt the visual-inertial balance at runtime. We introduce a scalar $α\geq1$ that upscales the visual information matrix relative to the IMU preintegration constraint. Across the candidate set $\{1.0,2.0,5.0,10.0,20.0\}$, the resulting trajectories form two empirical performance regimes. The IMU-TRUST regime contains $α\in\{1,2\}$ near the calibrated baseline, while the VISION-TRUST regime contains …

ObjDream: Guiding Vision-Language-Action Models with Object-Level Understanding and Future State Prediction

Huailiang Ma, Yuxuan Li, Ziyi Zhao, Xinkai Wang et al.

Abstract摘要

Vision-language-action (VLA) models have emerged as a powerful paradigm for robotic manipulation, enabling robots to generate actions from visual observations and language instructions. However, most existing VLA models still operate on image-level visual representations inherited from pretrained vision-language backbones, while lacking fine-grained object understanding for manipulation. As a result, their robustness can degrade under out-of-distribution object layouts, clutter, and background variations. To address these limitations, we introduce ObjDream, an object-centric VLA framework …

Investigating Behavior Cloning from Few Demonstrations for Autonomous Driving based on Bird's-Eye View in Simulated Cities

Eric Aislan Antonelo, Gustavo Claudio Karl Couto, Christian Möller, Pedro Henrique Fernandes

Abstract摘要

This paper investigates the use of Behavior Cloning (BC) for autonomous driving from a bird's-eye view (BEV) perspective in simulated urban environments. BC uses supervised learning to mimic expert driving behaviors. Previous works have applied BC in the CARLA simulator but did not fully address the challenges of traffic light compliance. Our approach enhances BC by integrating a kernel density estimator to adjust training sample weights based on action density, thereby improving the learning of rare but critical actions such as stopping at red lights and accelerating at green lights, …

Atomic-WAM: Execution-Grounded Atomic-Motion Reasoning for World Action Models

Shijun Shi, Zhe Liu, Zhi Hou, Yinan Chen et al.

Abstract摘要

World Action Models (WAMs) typically adapt video foundation models to robotic control through joint video and action prediction. However, task-level instructions may leave the next physical interaction underspecified, requiring semantic grounding and state-dependent motion selection. To this end, we introduce Atomic-WAM, an understand-then-execute framework that connects task reasoning to action generation through atomic-motion descriptions. Specifically, a vision-language reasoner describes the next local motion from the task instruction and visual context, guiding a WAM to predict future …

Enabling Tidying Tasks in Robotic Vacuum Cleaners via a Geometry-Induced Self-Locking Deployable Linkage

Eunseok Song, Jinwoong Kim, Sohee Lim, Taehyeong Kim et al.

Abstract摘要

Robotic vacuum cleaners must extend their functionality within tight limits on size, cost, and durability. Deployable linkages with few actuators meet these limits, but their backdrivability makes it difficult to hold a load-bearing posture without continuous motor torque. We introduce a two-stage deployable linkage that locks through its own geometry. At full deployment, an internal three-link subchain approaches a collinear, near-singular configuration in which the input-output transmission ratio tends to zero; plate loads therefore leave only a small residual back-driving torque, which …

Abstract摘要

Tactile sensing is becoming central to robust, adaptive, and dexterous robotic manipulation. Beyond its traditional role in contact detection and reactive control, touch is increasingly used to learn transferable representations, condition manipulation policies, and support embodied physical reasoning. Yet existing surveys largely emphasize tactile hardware and perception, leaving the rapid shift toward learning-based tactile manipulation insufficiently synthesized. This paper reviews tactile-guided skill learning from a learning-centric perspective, organized by the functional role of touch …

HM3D-M3: A Benchmark for Multi-Agent, Multi-Modal, Multi-Object Goal Navigation

Hongyu Ding, Kanyu Xu, Mingjia Chen, Zixuan Chen et al.

Abstract摘要

Rapid progress in AI agents and robotics makes it a matter of the near future that humans are served by a team of robots. Such a team will receive several goals at once, each specified in whatever form is convenient for the human, such as a category name, a photo, or a spoken description. Existing benchmarks study multi-agent, multi-modal, and multi-object goal navigation in isolation, and a benchmark that places all three in one episode is missing. To fill this gap, we introduce HM3D-M3. A team of K agents starts at distributed locations in a photorealistic indoor scene and searches for an …

FoveaVLA: Foveation Actions Replace the Wrist Camera in VLAs

Bingao Chen, Lihan Zha, C. Karen Liu, Guy Tevet

Abstract摘要

We present FoveaVLA, a Vision-Language-Action (VLA) model that replaces the wrist camera with learned foveation actions. Wrist cameras provide close-up detail but restrict the view to the end-effector's surroundings. External cameras see the whole scene, but the policy receives them at low resolution, so the fine detail needed for manipulation is lost. FoveaVLA recovers this detail by predicting, alongside each action chunk, the interaction region to observe at the next policy query. The policy then receives crops of these regions, taken from the original-resolution images, together with the …

Why 3D Reconstruction Breaks Down on Under-Ice AUV Video, and How to Predict It

Abstract摘要

Reconstruction of 3D structures using under-ice AUV video footage has been inaccurate, although it is not certain whether this is due to shortcomings in the methods or an inherent deficiency of the capture system. We test four different models for reconstruction on the same Antarctic under-ice AUV video (Icefin, Kamb Ice Stream): classical feature matching SfM, differentiable photometric splatting, volumetric depth fusion, and a pose-free feed-forward foundation model. All four fail, each in a distinct way: near-total registration yielding almost no structure, geometrically broken output …

Complementary Future Token Pruning for World Action Models

Baekseung Kim, Junhoo Lee, Sohyeon Hong, Suhyun Jeon et al.

Abstract摘要

World action models (WAMs) jointly predict future visual states and robot actions, but processing dense future-frame tokens incurs substantial inference latency. We propose CF-Prune, a training-free framework for pruning future-frame tokens in pretrained WAMs. Our key insight is that future visual predictions support action generation and therefore need not preserve every visual detail required for high-fidelity video synthesis. CF-Prune combines instruction and action attention to identify task-relevant tokens during the initial denoising forward pass, even when future-frame and action …

MUCO: A Mani-Unit-Structured Manipulation Framework for Compositional Long-Horizon Robot Tasks

Xiangyi Wei, Hanzhe Yao, Jingwen Shang, Zhenhong Wu et al.

Abstract摘要

Learning and executing long-horizon robot manipulation as complete task trajectories raises data-collection costs, lim?its capability reuse, and causes local failures to cascade into later task stages. We introduce manipulation units (MUs) as reusable operations, each defined by a local goal, an initi?ation condition, and observable success and failure criteria. MUs are learned and verified individually. During execution, consecutive MUs remain coupled through shared environ?ment dynamics. We formulate MU-Structured Manipulation (MUSM) and realize it through MU-Centric Orchestration (MUCO). …

Active Perception of Upper-Limb Functional Mobility through Human-Robot Handovers

Abstract摘要

The reintegration of people in the workplace after an upper-limb injury is often a long process. Collaborative robots and humanoids operating in shared workspaces must adapt their behavior to the physical capabilities of their human partners. Achieving this requires robots to autonomously estimate task-relevant human mobility during interaction, without relying on external clinical assessments. In this work, we formulate the estimation of upper-limb functional mobility as an active perception problem. We model task-available upper-limb functional ranges of motion through impairment …

Abstract摘要

Robot-free collection with handheld interfaces enables scalable acquisition of human demonstrations for policy learning. However, existing handheld interfaces often provide limited intuitive force feedback, making contact-rich demonstration collection challenging for human operators. This intuitive force feedback supports real-time action adjustment during robot-free …

What Matters for World Modeling in Vision-Language-Action Models?

Abstract摘要

Integrating world models into Vision-Language-Action models (VLAs) has emerged as a promising direction, enabling policies to anticipate future dynamics beyond reactive observation-to-action mapping. However, existing approaches vary simultaneously in their world representations, integration paradigms, and policy backbones, making it difficult to determine what truly matters for effective world model integration. To disentangle these factors, we categorize existing efforts into four representative paradigms, namely Implicit Future Alignment, Explicit Future Query, MoT Future Expert, and …

Learning from Demonstrations meets Symbolic Control - A Supervisory Control Architecture for Formal Certification of Learned Motion

Ashok Kumar, Mahathi Anand, Angela Schoellig, Abdalla Swikir

Abstract摘要

Dynamical system (DS)-based learning from demonstration generates flexible robot motions, but existing guarantees rely on certificate generation to obtain formal guarantees of safety and goal convergence. We propose a symbolic supervisory control architecture that automatically generates a fail-safe backup plan, certifying safety, reachability, and actuator feasibility directly from the robot's dynamics, independent of the learned DS. A nominal controller tracks the learned DS, while the supervisory controller monitors safety and target convergence, providing non-conservative intervention …

Continuum robots enable dexterous access to confined spaces in applications such as minimally invasive surgery and industrial inspection. However, their actuation systems are often custom-designed for specific robot architectures and tasks, limiting reuse across publications, institutions, and applications. This paper presents a unified actuation platform that decouples actuation hardware and software from continuum robot design. The platform provides modular actuation across continuum robot classes, scales to a large number of degrees of freedom (DOFs), and integrates with conventional …

Refine Actions If Needed: Adaptive Action Chunk Refinement for Robot Manipulation

Abstract摘要

Computationally lightweight manipulation policies predict executable actions with low inference latency, but prediction errors can limit task success. Iterative generative policies can achieve higher task success rates, but repeated network evaluations increase inference latency. Refining action proposals from computationally lightweight policies can combine these strengths, but the amount of refinement needed varies across states. We introduce RAIN (Refine Actions If Needed), a framework that predicts action errors at different refinement levels to decide whether and how much to refine each …

Abstract摘要

Technologies, such as co-simulation, in particular, digital twins (DTs) are used for comprehensive and reliable prototyping, verification and validation (V&V) of control systems. There, the combination of feedback loops across multiple realities (e.g., simulations, physical setups) enables various forms of experimentation with robots and autonomous systems. However, the handling of multiple realities requires a more specific support by the modelling techniques used in control engineering. To streamline the latter in the system life cycle, we propose a framework for mixing (i.e., fusing, …

Coordi-pi: Coordination-Aware Dual-Hand Action Representation for Bimanual Dexterous Manipulation

Abstract摘要

Vision-language-action (VLA) models have shown strong potential for general-purpose robotic manipulation, but extending them to bimanual dexterous manipulation introduces a high-dimensional and structured action space. Existing bimanual VLA policies commonly concatenate right- and left-side arm--hand actions at each control timestep, leaving cross-hand interactions implicit within a single action vector. We introduce Coordi-$π$, a structured action representation for bimanual dexterous manipulation. Coordi-$π$ represents the right- and left-side arm--hand actions as individual action tokens …

Abstract摘要

Vision-language-action (VLA) models have recently achieved remarkable progress by leveraging large-scale robot datasets and foundation models for general-purpose robot manipulation. However, their ability to rapidly adapt to novel manipulation tasks beyond the training distribution remains limited. Abstract摘要

Autonomous navigation of planetary rovers is challenged by visually repetitive, featureless terrain. SLAM systems based on 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) offer dense mapping but rely on RGB appearance descriptors that degrade under perceptual aliasing - a common failure mode in extraterrestrial environments where physically distinct locations appear visually identical. This paper presents HyperLoop, the first framework integrating hyperspectral imaging (HSI) into the loop closure module of a 3DGS-based SLAM system. Uncertainty-Driven Self-Play for Robust Multi-Agent Driving Policies

Sajad Marvi, Julian Schmidt, Alessandro Canevaro, Julian Jordan et al.

Abstract摘要

Learning robust driving policies that generalize beyond their training domain remains a central challenge in motion planning. We propose an uncertainty-driven self-play scheme, in which half of the agents are rewarded for increasing their neighbors' epistemic uncertainty, while the other half learn to drive safely as the exploring agents continuously seek out their weaknesses. Epistemic uncertainty indicates where the policy is least confident and serves as an automatic proxy for scenario difficulty. Exploring agents use this signal to seek out hard cases, generating a challenging curriculum …

We introduce ACRO, an Actor--Critic rollout orchestration layer that makes these decisions for a fixed VLA. Jehun Lee, Hajun Lee, Jimin Ryu, Youhan Lee et al.

Abstract摘要

Action-chunking vision-language-action (VLA) models predict sequences of future robot actions. Under fixed-horizon execution, the robot executes a fixedlength prefix of each predicted chunk before invoking the policy again, leaving the remaining predictions unused. For a given number of executed actions, short execution horizons require more policy calls. Extending the execution horizon amortizes policy inference cost over more actions. However, uniformly applying long horizons across episodes can limit opportunities for precise corrections. To address this limitation, we propose PICES …

SPECTRA-VLA: Base-Fine Hyperspectral Token Transfer at Frozen Vision-Language-Action Interfaces

Chih-Chung Hsu

Abstract摘要

Hyperspectral imaging distinguishes RGB-similar objects, but a pretrained vision-language-action model needs a state its frozen decoder can use. SPECTRA-VLA provides a native-width spectral upgrade without retraining the visual encoder or action decoder. A learned continuous residual enriches each target token through its own normalized false-color reference; projection, norm control and validation-calibrated injection regulate the change. Across 86 held-out acquisitions, category balanced accuracy rises from 0.812 to 0.883. With identical residuals and scale, own-token addition improves …

Eye, Robot: Learning Expressive Gaze Dynamics via a VLM-Guided Transformer-VAE

Yuhang Hu, Junlin Lyu, Yuan Fang, Xiaoying Shen et al.

Abstract摘要

Gaze coordinates attention in human interaction through coupled eye, head, and eyelid motion. A humanoid robot must choose where to look while generating a suitable movement toward that target; fixed tracking rules alone do not model the temporal structure of human gaze. We separate these tasks with an asynchronous vision-language model that selects a scene referent, a reactive perception module that maintains fixation, and a Realistic Gaze Transformer (RGT) that generates target-conditioned motion. RGT is a Transformer-VAE trained on markerless human recordings retargeted to the robot's …

E2DRL: End-to-End Differentiable Reinforcement Learning for 3D Obstacle Avoidance in Quadruped Robots

Cheng Fan, Bingyang Zhou, Gang Yang, Zixuan Zhuang et al.

Abstract摘要

Differentiable reinforcement learning shows strong promise for robot policy learning, but its application to legged locomotion has remained limited to blind walking or simulated 2D tasks. Extending it to end-to-end visual obstacle avoidance is challenging because hard collision constraints and early termination upon contact corrupt first-order gradients, trapping optimizers in local minima. We present E2DRL, which addresses this with a soft differentiable obstacle-interaction formulation: penetration penalties across multiple body keypoints with velocity-conditioned stop-gradient shaping to …

F2A-ObjectNav: An Adaptive Agentic Architecture for Object-Goal Navigation

Seyed Ali Mirghasemi, Alireza Taheri

Abstract摘要

Object-goal navigation requires an embodied agent to explore an unfamiliar environment, identify a target object, navigate toward candidate instances, and reliably determine whether the observed object satisfies the mission goal. This work investigates this problem through a two-stage development process. In Stage I, a fixed modular framework is used to examine combinations of exploration, object detection, and target validation methods. The results reveal clear trade-offs among navigation performance, validation reliability, execution time, and model-related cost, with no single fixed …

Instruction-Conditioned Motion Control for Robotic Arms: Language-to-Code Decomposition and Reinforcement Learning

Fan Huang, Dezhong Tong, Changyu Chen, Haewoon Kwak et al.

Abstract摘要

Instruction-Conditioned Motion Control (ICMC) separates parameter specification, instruction generation, and code synthesis for language-driven robot control, making execution outcomes traceable to instructions and programs. We compare one-shot generation with ICMC under o1 and o4-mini on cube pick-and-place and letter-reshaping tasks for a UR5e arm in MuJoCo. We then train an open-weight instruction policy by GRPO through a frozen code generator on cube placement onto two- and five-cube letter layouts, averaging the rewards of five programs per instruction. The logged positive-reward rate …

PolyMorph: Learning Locomotion Policy for Cross-Embodiment Adaptation

Hyunsik Oh, Seunghun Jeon, Donghoon Youm, Jungwoo Hur et al.

Abstract摘要

Reinforcement learning has enabled robust locomotion for legged robots, but learned policies are typically tied to a specific robot morphology and require additional engineering when the number of legs, actuators, or mechanical properties change. We present PolyMorph, a morphology-conditioned framework that learns a single locomotion policy for heterogeneous legged robots. PolyMorph converts each robot's URDF into joint-link modules and combines a recurrent encoder, graph-based Transformer, and per-joint decoder to generate actions across variable leg counts and joint configurations. Abstract摘要

Force feedback provides vision-language-action (VLA) policies with physical observations that can guide action selection and execution. However, differences in tasks, demonstrations, and control settings across existing systems hinder reliable comparisons of force integration designs. We introduce ForceBench, a simulation benchmark for evaluating six-axis wrist-force integration under a unified protocol. RoboSpan: Learning Modular Coordination Policies for High-DoF Whole-Body Mobile Manipulation with Teleoperation

Keqiang Ren, Xuecheng Ye, Hanyu Liu, Zhihua Wang et al.

Abstract摘要

Whole-body mobile manipulation suffers from two fundamental challenges: inherent motion heterogeneity across locomotion, arm, and hand modules, and progressive error accumulation over long-horizon multi-stage tasks. Existing teleoperation platforms also lack integrated dexterous tactile sensing to support coordinated whole-body decision-making. This paper presents RoboSpan, a high-DoF whole-body teleoperation and demonstration platform, and the Hierarchical Modular Framework (HMF) for learning modular coordination policies. HMF functionally decouples the 29-DoF action space into fine hand …

Back on Track: Deployment-time Policy Improvement via World Model Planning

Colton Crosby, Hao Wang, Mac Schwager, Somil Bansal

Abstract摘要

State-of-the-art visuomotor policies are increasingly capable of executing complex tasks, yet can fail during deployment in ways they cannot predict or recover from on their own. Improving their performance and robustness typically requires collecting more data, retraining, or modifying the policy architecture, all of which are time- and resource-intensive in practice. We instead propose an offline-trained monitoring-and-intervention framework that improves a policy during deployment using only black-box query access. From a limited set of labeled on-policy rollouts, we learn a …

GS-PRM: Gaussian Visual Roadmap for Image-Goal Navigation

Ashraf Siddique, Kyung Min Han, Young J. Kim

Abstract摘要

Image-goal navigation requires a global planner that connects visually specified endpoints while providing observations that a local policy can follow. Three-dimensional Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) provides map-registered RGB, opacity, and depth renderings, but does not explicitly encode navigable topology. We introduce GS-PRM, a Gaussian visual roadmap whose milestones, local connections, and visual references are constructed directly through 3DGS rendering without deriving an occupancy grid or signed distance field. We define render-based collision-free (RC-free) configurations and paths. …

Dual-arm Cooperation for Tabletop Wiping with Temporal Object Removal

Pengqi Zhang, Longchang Yu, Daohan Li, Liang Yan et al.

Abstract摘要

We devise a dual-arm cooperative planning framework for wiping table surface in the presence of scattered objects. Unlike conventional surface-cleaning strategies that only cover free areas and detour around obstacles, our framework explicitly assigns one arm to rearrange objects while the other performs coverage wiping, thereby enabling access to previously obstructed regions. Specifically, we first construct a set of wiping and object-rearrangement action primitives. Based on these primitives, we introduce Geo-MILP, a geometry-aware task planner formulated as Mixed-Integer Linear …

HiFun: a Hierarchical Framework for Efficient Functional Dexterous Manipulation Learning

Linyi Huang, Guowei Huai, Weibin Liu, Shulong Jiang et al.

Abstract摘要

While multi-fingered dexterous robot hands have the potential to provide human-level dexterity, using them for functional manipulation remains difficult because task success depends on precise contact, coordinated arm-hand motion, and reactive recovery from execution errors. Precise contact depends on complex contact dynamics that are difficult to model accurately in simulation, motivating real-world learning. However, real-world demonstrations in the full arm-hand control space are costly and noisy because each trajectory must coordinate arm motion with high-DoF multi-finger contact. Small …

VLRLA: Deployment-Time Adaptation of Vision-Language-Action Models through In-Context Reinforcement Learning

Abstract摘要

Vision-language-action (VLA) models connect visual perception and language understanding with robot control, providing a foundation for instruction-conditioned manipulation. However, conventional pretrained VLA policies lack a mechanism for gradual adaptation through accumulated interaction experience during deployment. We therefore propose VLRLA, a general framework that equips existing VLA models with \textit{in-context reinforcement learning} capabilities for deployment-time adaptation. Our approach augments a VLA model with a reinforcement learning module that learns from historical …

Abstract摘要

Retrieving useful context for a robot requires matching its task, execution stage, and the continuation that should follow. We introduce Robota-Embed, to our knowledge the first vision-language-action (VLA) embedding model to jointly encode all three modalities in both current-state queries and recorded future continuations. Predictive retrieval training aligns these endpoints, enabling historical continuations to serve as context at inference time. Wrist-worn inertial measurement units (IMUs) provide a common sensing modality for tasks ranging from activity and gesture recognition to pose estimation, inertial odometry and clinical motor assessment. Existing wearable benchmarks evaluate performance across multiple tasks, but leave open how supervision for one task affects transfer to others and whether these tasks benefit from a shared representation. Abstract摘要

Sim-and-real co-training is an effective way to scale robot learning by augmenting limited real-world demonstrations with simulation data. However, existing approaches typically treat simulators as fixed data sources, relying on uniform generation, offline retrieval, or manual parameter alignment by domain experts. We formulate \textit{Active Generative Simulation}: optimizing a simulator's data-generation distribution to maximize downstream real-world performance. To solve this problem, we propose MetaGenSim, a meta-learning framework that trains an auxiliary rater network via meta-gradients …

Spacecraft Pose Tracking via Kinematic Prediction and Selective Event Correction

Yonglong Zhang, Guanning Yao, Shuo Zhang, Yifan Yang et al.

Abstract摘要

In initialized spacecraft tracking, a short-horizon motion prediction remains available as event support changes. Observation-Aligned Event Innovation (OA-EI) uses events to correct selected components of this prediction. A constant-body-twist model propagates the complete pose; the event encoder proposes rotational and normalized image-plane translation corrections, retaining propagated axial depth. Candidate magnitudes come from a bounded Scale Gate and a deterministic activity factor, with empty windows returning the prediction unchanged. Evaluation uses four FRESH physical-event …

Paraphrase Consensus Is Not Self-Consistency: Instruction Reliance and Robustness in VLA Policies

Hanlong Li, Sihan Tan, Takeshi Ashizawa, Benjamin Yen et al.

Abstract摘要

Vision-language-action (VLA) policies fine-tuned on LIBERO are trained and evaluated on the same ten instruction strings, and rewording the instruction changes base OpenVLA's success by -38.0 points. Test-time prompt ensembling, which improves language models, does not recover this loss in any setting we ran. Paraphrase consensus (the medoid action over K paraphrases) costs base OpenVLA 16.8 points when the training instruction is a member. Without it, the medoid of the paraphrases scores -32.4 points relative to the training instruction, and confidence-based selection scores -28.0. The same …

$S^3$-Nav: Structured Spatial-Semantic Decision Making for Language-Guided Robot Navigation

Chaemin Lee, Hae Min Cho

Abstract摘要

This paper presents $S^3$-Nav, a structured spatial-semantic decision-making framework for language-guided robot navigation under partial observability. Rather than assuming a complete environment representation in advance, $S^3$-Nav incrementally constructs persistent spatial-semantic state while exposing only a capacity-controlled, task-conditioned view to the high-level policy. This separation decouples what the robot must retain from what the policy needs to inspect, allowing decision complexity to be controlled without discarding grounded evidence required for subsequent reasoning and …

From Failures to Learnable Worlds: Policy-Conditioned Environment Generation for Navigation Agents

Yue Zhang, Han Lin, Zun Wang, Yidong Huang et al.

Abstract摘要

Simulated environments enable scalable training data generation for embodied agents, but more data does not necessarily provide what a particular agent needs to learn. Existing environment-generation pipelines largely optimize generic properties such as realism, diversity, or task coverage, while different pretrained policies can fail for different environmental reasons. We therefore introduce WEDGE, a framework for weakness-guided navigation learning in which the failure modes of a pretrained agent guide the generation of training environments at each adaptation round. Topology-Preserving Multi-Usage Pipe Centerline Refinement under Permanent Tubular Occupancy

Deng Quan

Abstract摘要

Discrete multi-group pipe routers place channels on a grid or coarse graph. The resulting centerlines are topologically feasible but typically contain many axis-aligned corners. For permanently occupied fluid tubes---as in additively manufactured hydraulic manifolds---those corners are undesirable: they degrade geometric fairness and, in practice, flow quality. This technical report studies the downstream geometric stage that starts from a fixed routing topology and a feasible coarse layout, and refines tubular centerlines under permanent clearance. Unlike classical robotic path smoothing, …

Beyond Kinematic Tracking: Preserving Expressive Characteristics in Humanoid Whole-Body Control

Lingfan Bao, Hanshang Zhu, Yan Pan, Jincheng Wang et al.

Abstract摘要

Whole-body control plays a crucial role in enabling humanoid robots to execute expressive motions. Faithful execution requires preserving both the intended action and its expressive characteristics. Existing whole-body trackers typically balance joint and keypoint tracking with physical stability across diverse motions, but these objectives do not necessarily prioritize the expressive characteristics of each action. Our analysis shows that lower average positional tracking error does not guarantee better preservation of dynamic and postural motion characteristics. To address this gap, we …

VLX-Go: Robust Embodied Tracking through Multi-Stage Learning and On-Policy Refinement

Kyusong Lee, Heting Ying, Tiancheng Zhao

Abstract摘要

Embodied visual tracking requires a robot to identify a designated target from visual observations and control its own motion to follow that target through an environment. Following an isolated person is a comparatively simple demonstration of embodied visual tracking, but following the intended person among distractors remains challenging. Existing methods exhibit a substantial drop in success from single-target to distractor tracking, motivating a focus on the shared spaces that person-following robots must navigate. We present \method{}, a vision--language waypoint policy built around the …

Probabilistic Physics Digital Twin for Human-Robot Interaction

Yushen Hu, Harshvardhan Chandirasekar, Apurv Kushwaha, Jonathan King et al.

Abstract摘要

Digital twins are increasingly used in robotics to simulate interactions, predict action outcomes, and support planning. However, constructing accurate digital twins requires precise estimates of physical properties such as mass, friction, and center of mass, which are often difficult to obtain in real-world environments. We propose probabilistic digital twins, which represent uncertain physical properties as probability distributions rather than fixed values. By simulating actions across these distributions, the twin predicts a range of possible outcomes and their likelihoods. These …

NavAble: A Large-Scale Dataset and Synthetic Data Generation Pipeline for Blind Navigation

Hochul Hwang, Jahir Sadik Monon, Soowan Yang, Shiven Umeshbhai Patel et al.

Abstract摘要

Reliable recognition of accessibility-critical objects (e.g., audible pedestrian signals, door-activation buttons, and handrails) is essential for assistive navigation technologies that support safe, independent mobility for blind and low-vision (BLV) users. Yet these categories are underrepresented in existing large-scale vision datasets, and the few datasets that include them suffer from limited class coverage, inconsistent annotations, and poor diversity. We introduce NavAble, a large-scale dataset spanning 11 accessibility-critical object classes, combining 41K curated open-source images …
