Simulation benchmarks are a useful way to measure progress in robotics; typically they provide success rate as the dominant measure of performance. However, success rate reports only whether a rollout completed the task, hiding by what margin it succeeded, how sensitive the success is to goal parameter changes, requirements it may have violated, and whether success persisted. Signal Temporal Logic (STL) provides a formal language for capturing specifications; it can be used to define requirements, and measure how close a robot behavior is to satisfying or violating them. Using STL monitors in …
Visual Place Recognition (VPR) is an important means for loop closure detection in visual Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM). While state-of-the-art VPR and SLAM approaches excel in urban and feature-rich natural environments, the vast and feature-poor environments of extraterrestrial surfaces like on the Moon or Mars pose severe challenges for existing approaches. This paper presents a novel benchmark, VPR-Space, to evaluate VPR capabilities on extraterrestrial surfaces. There are three contributions: (1) We collected sixteen VPR database-query datasets based on existing data from …

Abstract摘要
Embodied agents are expected to accomplish real-world goals by deciding for themselves how and when to interact with their surroundings. For many such goals, changing the physical state of the world is the means rather than the end: the agent changes the state of a system through interaction, observes the feedback, and explores until it either achieves the goal itself (e.g., discovering physical laws) or learns what the goal requires; it acts to know. Manipulation benchmarks stop at acting to change, with the target state given; scientific discovery benchmarks evaluate knowing but replace …

Abstract摘要
Adaptive robot perception systems must balance detector accuracy, inference latency, and energy consumption, particularly when high ambient temperatures cause processors to thermally throttle. We propose Thermal-Headroom Routing (THR), a lightweight model-selection policy that forecasts processor temperature using a closed-form RC thermal model and excludes detector configurations predicted to cross a throttling threshold. We evaluate THR with four YOLO11 configurations across seven real-world perception traces, eight ambient temperatures, and 20 randomized seeds, comparing it with …

Abstract摘要
Agentic embodied intelligence plays a foundational role in open-ended, dynamic physical environments. Rather than treating policy learning as an end-to-end mapping from instructions to actions, recent studies reveal that embodied systems depend not only on pre-trained foundation models, but also on harness. Prior approaches largely treat rollouts as static logs for post-hoc reflection, producing harness updates without autonomously testing and refining them through subsequent embodied interaction. To address this challenge, we propose VISTA, a meta-agent framework that transforms post-hoc …

Abstract摘要
Vision-language-action (VLA) policies can select among discrete candidates for pick-and-place manipulation or generate continuous action chunks for motion control. Improving both forms of decision making through a common mechanism while retaining the capabilities of a pretrained policy is an important adaptation problem. Inspired by Jev's structured, probabilistic decision interface, we propose JevVLA, a lightweight energy-based adaptation framework for VLA policies. JevVLA instantiates this inspiration by modeling the relative quality of action proposals: with the base policy frozen, it …

Quadrotor interceptors equipped with strapdown cameras offer a low-cost solution for physically countering unauthorized UAVs. However, this configuration inherently couples vehicle maneuvering and camera pointing, creating a conflict between rapid closing and maintaining target visibility. We present interception-oriented spherical-bearing nonlinear model predictive control (ISB-NMPC), which couples spherical-bearing prediction with nonlinear quadrotor dynamics to jointly optimize target-directed closing motion and visibility. An attitude-compensated extended Kalman filter on S^2 estimates …

Abstract摘要
Safe household navigation requires robots to regulate clearance and speed according to what an obstacle is and how close it is, without unnecessary conservatism. Yet existing evaluations do not test whether semantic safety distinctions are reflected in continuous motion. To that end, we introduce OSMA-Bench, an Obstacle-Conditioned Safe Motion Adaptation Benchmark built on spatially matched scenario sets that differ only in obstacle type. We also propose the \emph{Semantic Sensitivity Index} (SSI), which measures whether clearance and distance-dependent speed and smoothness follow the caution …

Video world models trained on large-scale robot data promise a safe and scalable approach for learning and evaluating policies that act in the physical world. However, they still struggle with long-horizon rollouts and out-of-distribution generalization, and they remain computationally demanding at inference time. Typically, video world models make predictions in the latent space of a reconstruction-trained autoencoder, which however is not directly optimized for dynamics modeling. On the other hand, world models designed for latent planning usually optimize latents to be predictable, but …

Scaling vision-language-action (VLA) models is constrained by scarce action-labeled demonstrations and incompatible control spaces across robot embodiments. We present RynnVLA-Latent, a framework that turns heterogeneous interaction videos into scalable supervision for robot policy pretraining. At its core, RynnLAM learns continuous, 3D-grounded latent actions from visual transitions without requiring native robot controls. By combining residual future-feature prediction, camera-compensated 3D-flow supervision, and camera-motion decoupling, RynnLAM encourages representations that capture …

Abstract摘要
Extending Vision-Language-Action models (VLAs) to humanoid robots requires coordinated whole-body control and diverse demonstrations that are costly to collect in real-world scenarios. Although egocentric human demonstrations provide a complementary source of task experience, differences in visual embodiment and missing robot proprioception complicate transfer to humanoid policies. To address these challenges, we introduce HuGe, a family of Humanoid Generalist VLAs pre-trained on over 2,000 hours of egocentric human and robot data. Specifically, HuGe employs three existing representative VLA …

The simultaneous surveillance and containment (SSC) problem arises in multi-robot applications such as perimeter security and environmental monitoring, where robots must survey a region of interest and coordinate to enclose targets once they are detected. Surveillance favors spatial dispersion for coverage, whereas containment requires target-centric cohesion for enclosure. This conflict makes heuristic switching unstable, and the instability becomes more pronounced as larger robotic networks introduce more inter-agent and agent-target relations. End-to-end DRL reduces reliance on …

However, deploying the WSR approach has remained challenging due to its limited integration with standard robotics tools and reliance on deprecated WiFi-CSI acquisition hardware. Abstract摘要
When a team of drones explores a building together, each drone tells the others which frontier it is going to and shares the map it has built. This avoids duplicated effort, but it also means that the team trusts every identity from which it receives messages. In a Sybil attack, one compromised drone creates fake identities, and these fake teammates claim frontiers and send fabricated scans, so the real drones leave parts of the building unexplored and end up with walls in their maps that do not exist. We study five such attackers, including one that seals off the openings between floors, and …

Abstract摘要
Recent vision-and-language navigation (VLN) policies act on their visual history, and an incorrect action can take them off the instructed route. Paired interventions on four VLN policies show that clearing the history doubles pooled success at the onset of a deviation but lowers it on route, while later in a deviation, removing only the off-route frames helps much less. After a deviation, the retained history keeps the policy from turning where a turn is needed, which we call behavioral inertia. We propose MOON, a framework that equips a frozen VLN policy with two lightweight modules, adding …

Abstract摘要
Rapid illumination transitions can disturb Visual SLAM (VSLAM) by saturating images before the Automatic Exposure (AE) policy adapts, removing the visual correspondences needed to maintain tracking. Our proposed methods mitigate this disturbance at two levels: B-Adapt acquires adaptive exposure brackets to cover the scene dynamic range while promoting photometric overlap, and BVSLAM directly uses the multi-exposure sequence as constraints in a factor graph state estimator without relying on High Dynamic Range (HDR) merging. We evaluate both methods against state-of-the-art approaches in …

Abstract摘要
Vision-language-action (VLA) models enable robots to perform tasks specified through natural-language instructions, but their large weight footprint challenges deployment on memory-constrained onboard platforms. Ultra-low-bit quantization reduces this footprint, yet preserving task performance and controlling weight recovery costs remain challenging. We propose Action-Guided Quantization, which combines action sensitivity with a measured proxy for weight recovery cost to allocate matrix bitwidths under storage budgets. Per-channel calibration compensates for quantization error, while a …

Abstract摘要
Many everyday tasks require controlling contact force as well as motion. On a humanoid, this force must often be coordinated across both hands and the whole body, and cannot be specified by kinematic trajectories alone. Therefore, we present FLORE, a framework for learning force-reactive humanoid loco-manipulation. We collect robot-free demonstrations using two force-sensing UMI-style handheld grippers for hand motion and contact wrenches, and wearable trackers for body motion. A force-reactive diffusion policy takes vision, proprioception, and measured wrenches as input, then predicts …

Abstract摘要
This paper proposes a smooth analytic gradient for frictional contact and applies it to policy learning and contact-implicit trajectory optimization for legged locomotion. The exact contact sensitivity is available in closed form but describes changes within the current contact mode, providing no first-order information toward neighboring contact modes. The proposed gradient replaces this sensitivity only in the backward pass, leaving the hard-contact forward solve unchanged and the realized rollout feasible. A central-path relaxation of the de Saxc\'e-corrected second-order-cone …

The problem of nonprehensile robotic catching is addressed using virtual nonholonomic constraints (VNHCs); the motion of the robot end-effector is designed and controlled directly in terms of the states of the object before it is caught on the surface of the end-effector. In contrast to contemporary approaches, our approach avoids the need for object trajectory prediction, and consequent time-varying robot trajectory generation. With a focus on the planar case, we demonstrate that our VNHC approach can be used to catch an object on an end-effector at a desired height, with minimal relative …

Direct-policy World Action Models (WAM) have demonstrated the benefits of decoupling action generation from explicit future visual prediction for efficient inference in autonomous driving and embodied control. However, they still require tens of denoising steps to achieve competitive action quality, incurring substantial latency and hindering real-time deployment. Simply reducing the number of denoising steps will collapse the nonlinear multi-step denoising trajectory into coarse updates, substantially degrading action quality. To reduce the denoising steps while enabling real-time action …

Abstract摘要
A robot policy needs to understand what a task is asking for in a scene, and how to move the robot to accomplish that task. To achieve these two skills, we introduce Zero-real Agent Policy (ZAP), a recipe that teaches a small off-the-shelf vision-language model to control a robot via a simple tool harness. We use a pretrained 27B parameter model to bootstrap world understanding and reasoning, followed by supervised fine-tuning and GRPO on simple simulated tasks to teach it how to move the robot. Without any real-world robot data during training, ZAP reaches 96.7% success on real-world tasks, …

Multi-objective reinforcement learning is a fundamental problem for modern AI, with applications spanning post-training, reasoning models, and robotic control. A central challenge is to learn policies that balance competing objectives, such as helpfulness versus honesty in safety and alignment, or speed versus energy in robotics. The optimal policy can vary sharply with objective-weighting combinations, and the extent of this variation depends crucially on the degree of conflict among objectives, making per-preference policy learning sample-inefficient. In this paper, we introduce …

Abstract摘要
Agile quadruped navigation in dynamic environments demands trajectories that are both dynamically feasible and provably collision-free. Most real-time planners achieve tractability through a convex reduction that requires simplified kinematic models, discarding motion that the robot can readily execute, and certify safety only at discretization points, leaving open possible inter-sample collisions with moving obstacles. We present a real-time motion planning framework that retains the fully-actuated $SE(2)$ model of a quadruped, with its anisotropic, heading-coupled velocity bounds, and …

Robot corrections allow people to adjust a robot's behavior, but a single correction changes many features. Also, preferences about object attributes and relationships between objects cannot be expressed by moving the robot. We propose environment edits as a complementary form of feedback. We introduce Feature Learning from Environmental and Robot-Relational Edit Traces (FERRET), which learns preferences from both robot and environment corrections. We show that …

Latent world models are typically pre-trained offline and kept frozen at test time, so planning with them can degrade under distribution shift. Test-time adaptation (TTA) can mitigate this degradation by updating the model during deployment. Unlike pre-training on fixed data, TTA for planning is closed-loop: the planner uses model rollouts to select actions, and the resulting transitions drive the next update. This raises the question: which objective should guide TTA for planning? Under a prediction-only objective, the model is fit only to the outcomes of its own actions, so it can remain …

Abstract摘要
In autonomous driving, robot teleoperation serves as a critical safety fallback mechanism, requiring operators to assume direct control in the event of system failure. While recent research has pivoted toward high-level supervisory control or simulation-based studies, these approaches often fail to capture the physical dynamics and sensory demands of driving a full-scale vehicle. To address this gap, we evaluated the impact of spatial data representation on operator performance using a real car-sized vehicle in a field experiment with $N = 18$ participants. This work explores a multimodal approach to the alignment of the behavior of open-ended learning autonomous robots with human purposes through the use of large language models as cultural enablers. While autonomous robots can generate their own skills and goals through interaction with the environment, they often lack mechanisms to ensure that these remain relevant and aligned to those of human users. Efficient robotic data collection remains a major bottleneck for vision-language-action (VLA) policy learning, especially for tasks requiring accurate end-effector positioning and camera-action alignment. This challenge is particularly severe in electronic-waste disassembly, where robots operate in cluttered assemblies of densely packed, visually similar components. Full digital-twin simulation is difficult because many parts are thin, reflective, or mechanically complex, making accurate object-level meshes and contact models difficult to obtain. Generalist robot policies and language-model agents provide complementary capabilities, but completing a task also requires adapting their use to the consequences of physical interaction. We study execution as a locus of adaptation: feedback guides the current action and supplies evidence for revising subsequent decisions under fixed model weights. We introduce RoboDoctor, a training-free framework that connects diagnosis, grounded action, and persistent experience across three revision targets. The harness allocates control between policy and agent; intervention determines when to assist …

Abstract摘要
Coordinating many miniature robots in a confined arena, with no leader, central planner, or global map, is a core challenge for swarm robotics. As the swarm grows denser, collision avoidance becomes the limiting factor, and the number of safely coexisting robots depends on the formulation of the inter-robot safety constraint. We present a distributed predictive flocking controller in which each robot solves its own nonlinear model predictive control (NMPC) problem, optimizing swarm cohesion and alignment costs, inter-robot and obstacle safety, and a task objective, while exchanging only …

Abstract摘要
Long-horizon embodied navigation may be interrupted by a higher-priority instruction before the current task sequence is complete. The agent must finish its current atomic task, execute the inserted task, and resume the remaining sequence from the updated environment state, where its viewpoint and available navigation candidates may have changed. To evaluate this capability, we introduce PIFR benchmark, a novel task for runtime task preemption and resumption in embodied navigation. PIFR includes single, repeated, and nested interruption settings, with stage-specific metrics for inserted-task …

Experts can master fine hand-object manipulation skills, yet limited conscious perception of rapid tactile interactions hinders their ability to articulate the underlying control mechanisms. Badminton racket control requires rapid, fine hand-force coordination, providing a demanding testbed for uncovering these mechanisms. An 864-node tactile-inertial glove with synchronized 100-Hz acquisition recorded over 14,000 strokes from more than 70 participants across five skills. Inspired by sensorimotor control, our mechanics-grounded two-layer framework inferred object-driving and grip-stabilizing …

Abstract摘要
Training robotic manipulation policies in simulation is widely adopted due to safety and cost efficiency; however, tasks involving obstacles remain under-performing and often converge slowly under Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL). To address this challenge, we propose a task decomposition framework for DRL that integrates Transfer Learning (TL) with Reward Redesign (RR) to improve learning efficiency and robustness in obstacle environments. The TL strategy selectively transfers only the first-layer critic parameters across structurally related tasks, since that layer captures general …

Existing manipulation data collection methods typically offer either accurate robot-state acquisition through kinematic-chain-based teleoperation or convenient, portable operation through vision-based approaches. We present DEX-PHD, a portable handheld device that combines these advantages for dexterous manipulation by integrating a dexterous robot hand, continuous per-finger control, and multimodal logging. The system records proprioceptive information, fingertip contact data, and wrist-camera video, while the operator directly controls the robot hand through joint-level mapping. Its …

Data-enabled predictive control has recently emerged as a promising control paradigm, enabling a transparent optimal-control formulation without the need to learn an explicit dynamics model. This paper presents a number of extensions paving the path towards its use in real-time robotics tasks. Following recent work, we utilize a nonlinear predictor based on Gaussian kernels to represent the relationship between input and output data. We propose a damped Gauss-Newton method that enables real-time control by efficiently exploiting the least-squares structure of the control problem. In addition, …

Abstract摘要
End-to-end driving models perform well on standard benchmarks but collide frequently in safety-critical scenarios. We present a failure-mode analysis on NeuroNCAP which shows that 95.9% of DiffusionDrive's collisions are planning failures despite reliable detection, pinpointing the bottleneck in planning rather than perception. We attribute this to a fundamental data imbalance, as safety-critical interactions are rare in real driving logs, so planners are hardly ever trained on them. We close this gap with a novel model-aware framework that generates safety-critical training scenes against a …

Accurate localization in GPS-denied and visually degraded environments affected by smoke, dust, or fog remains a critical challenge for autonomous systems. While LiDAR provides high-resolution spatial perception, its performance deteriorates under particulate occlusion. In contrast, frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) radar offers robustness under such conditions but suffers from sparse measurements and outliers. Abstract摘要
While unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are increasingly deployed for pipeline inspection, prevailing research predominantly assumes static pipes. In real-world industrial environments, pipes often exhibit dynamic movements, such as vibrations. This imposes more stringent requirements on UAVs' adaptive control and computational efficiency than in static scenarios. Therefore, this paper proposes a servo control framework named VisGeo-PipeTrack, which utilizes geometric constraints to enable UAV tracking of dynamic pipes. To achieve efficient UAV positioning, YOLOv5 is employed to detect labels …

Dexterous manipulation of rigid objects has reached a level of maturity where grasp stability, control, and planning strategies are successfully applied in industry and logistics. In contrast, manipulating deformable objects (cables, plastic pieces, cloth) remains far more challenging, as rigid-object methods do not account for their additional complexity. This paper identifies semantic failure analysis as a key step toward mature deformable-object manipulation and supports this claim with proof-of-concept experiments. Abstract摘要
Estimating forces acting on Deformable Linear Objects (DLOs) is challenging due to their underactuated nature. However, reliable contact estimation is crucial to precisely control them and enable safe manipulation tasks. Differently from the various approaches presented in the literature, this work adopts a probabilistic formulation where the DLO state and sensor data are related through conditional distributions. In particular, factor graphs are used to determine the magnitude, direction, and location of a 3D force acting on a DLO, while simultaneously reconstructing its shape. Since DLOs …

Abstract摘要
Human behaviour models are increasingly used to provide simulated human interactions for training robots via reinforcement learning (RL). Existing approaches primarily evaluate these models according to how closely their generated behaviours resemble real human data, while their usefulness as training partners is less commonly assessed. This creates a potential objective mismatch: a model that performs well according to behavioural evaluation metrics may not necessarily provide useful training experiences for downstream robot policy learning. Across two human-robot interaction (HRI) domains, …

Humans exhibit biological sensitivity to safety-critical stimuli that can trigger defensive action. Across three models and two video benchmarks, we investigate whether similar responses emerge in vision-language-action models by examining their internal representations and action tendencies in response to visible hazards and harmful consequences. Our findings suggest that task execution may remain the default response even when danger is internally registered.

This study compares two implemented intra-aisle robotic-picking configurations through discrete-event simulation. Without an onboard tote lift, two level-captive shuttles serve the two tested levels; with the lift, one shuttle remains on its horizontal level and its onboard mechanism moves the order tote to allow picks from the adjacent upper level. Thirty configuration-task-size experiments (n = 1-15 locations; ten replications each) yield 300 replication-level cycle-time observations. Two-sided Welch tests are applied to the replication means, with Holm adjustment across the 15 comparisons. …

Abstract摘要
Assistive agents in shared-control settings face a dual challenge: acting proactively to align with the human's intentions while remaining legible enough for the human to comprehend and fluently respond in real time. We present Dream2Assist, a model-based reinforcement learning framework for tightly-coupled shared decision making that addresses both sides of this challenge. Our approach extends a recurrent state-space world model with intent inference, enabling an assistive policy trained via fictitious co-play to anticipate and support discrete human objectives without overriding human …

Abstract摘要
Recent advances in vision-language-action (VLA) and world-action models (WAMs) have significantly improved robotic manipulation, yet deploying robots in the open world demands a higher level of autonomy beyond executing predefined tasks. Robot agents offer a promising paradigm for this transition, integrating task discovery, contextual reasoning, physical execution, and adaptive recovery into a closed interaction loop. However, existing benchmarks largely evaluate isolated capabilities, failing to capture the complexity of open-world robot autonomy. We introduce RobotAgentBench (RAB), a …

World Action Models (WAMs) combine future-video prediction with robot action learning, yet improvements in task success alone do not reveal how predictive supervision manifests in execution behavior or whether its benefits persist under task and environmental shifts. We conduct controlled future-video prediction loss ablations within FastWAM and OpenWAM, keeping model architecture, initialization, robot training data, and training steps fixed within each model family. Under clean conditions on seen tasks, predictive supervision increases success rates by 24.38 and 72.91 percentage points, …

A robot searching for the source of an odor must eventually answer a deceptively hard question: have I arrived? Near the source, concentration gradients flatten, turbulence makes the signal intermittent, and a small robot often lacks the positional accuracy to map the plume. Here, we describe a lightweight remedy inspired by a World War II statistics conundrum: the German tank problem. To approximate enemy armament production, Allied analysts developed an estimator based on serial numbers from captured tanks. Analogously, we use the same procedure over sampled chemical sensor readings from a …
Quadrotor trajectory tracking under unmodeled disturbances often relies on online residual adaptation, but short out-domain residuals can corrupt the learned disturbance model when constant-step updates treat every residual gradient uniformly. We propose Dual Gradient Consensus (DGC), an adaptive-learning method for mixed in-domain/out-domain disturbances that retains the random Fourier feature model, offline BPTT policy, and least-squares adaptation of a prior domain-adaptive residual policy (DAPL) while modifying the online update step size. DGC compares each residual gradient with long- …

Social robots must coordinate speech and movement while interpreting multimodal human input. We present a multimodal framework that integrates speech, vision, and touch to generate contextually appropriate robot speech and movement. We evaluated the framework in virtual reality with 18 participants across five social interaction scenarios, comparing its performance against a human-teleoperated baseline. Although participants rated the autonomous system above the neutral midpoint for both naturalness and social appropriateness, the teleoperated baseline received significantly higher ratings on …

Vision-language-action (VLA) models are increasingly used for robot manipulation because they map camera images and a language instruction directly to actions. Robots that cannot be tethered to a workstation, such as mobile manipulators and humanoids, must run them on onboard embedded boards, where the prefill latency of the language backbone grows with the hundreds of visual tokens processed at every control step. To meet real-time limits, training-free accelerators recompute only a subset of the visual tokens and skip the rest, either by pruning them or by reusing their cached key-value …
Achieving safety in autonomous driving through Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning (MARL) is a critical yet challenging task due to non-stationarity, partial observability, and the need for effective coordination among agents. Although earlier cooperative MARL methods have aimed to improve coordination by sharing encoded state observations, we find these strategies are insufficient in safety-critical scenarios. To address this gap, we present IntNet, a novel MARL framework that enhances safety by incorporating the transmission of vehicle intent and adaptive communication scheduling into a …
In this project, I explored controller design and trajectory generation for a quadrotor. Differential flatness was used for trajectory generation based on one of the references. A minimum snap trajectory is generated from the given algorithm based on waypoint navigation, and a simple proportional plus derivative (PD) controller is used to track the trajectories. Simulation results are presented which generate smooth trajectories for position and velocity of the quadrotor.
This paper presents two controllers for a quadrotor equipped with a two-DOF robot manipulator that physically interacts with the environment. Cartesian impedance and adaptive sliding mode controllers are implemented and compared for a simple hovering task in the presence of some bounded disturbance. A full dynamic model is developed, and the two above controllers are implemented with the same initial conditions and desired position.

Abstract摘要
Large-scale vision, language, and video pretraining has substantially improved the perception and generalization capabilities of robotic manipulation models, but action generation for complex dexterous manipulation remains constrained by the scarcity of robot demonstrations. Limited robot demonstrations must be used to learn both action representations and task-conditioned action distributions, making it difficult to adequately learn action representations and, in turn, limiting the ability of downstream generative models to generate complex dexterous actions. To address this limitation, we …

This report investigates an acoustic surveillance framework for localizing and tracking narrowband adversarial acoustic sources that threaten offshore data centers. Unlike conventional sound source localization (SSL) methods that rely on broadband signals and compact receiver arrays, the considered scenario involves narrowband emissions and sparse sensors. In such scenarios, the observed time-difference-of-arrival (TDOA) measurements are aliased and produce an ambiguous solution space, rendering conventional localization methods ineffective. In this paper, we propose ThinkLocoManip, an agentic harness for legged loco-manipulation designed to tackle complex, long-horizon tasks in large-scale environments. In contrast, ThinkLocoManip adopts an interleaved reasoning-and-acting paradigm, allowing the agent to continuously reason about its current state, execute actions, observe their outcomes, and adapt its strategy …

Endowing robot policies with anticipatory capabilities has proven effective in improving control performance. However, existing methods predominantly rely on explicit supervision derived from future observations, in either pixel or latent space, at the cost of additional architectural and computational complexity. We propose a novel method for robust point cloud registration with only one tunable parameter. Our method, dubbed TLP, uses truncated $L_p$ functions with different values of $p$ to assign priority scores to correspondences, select the hypothesis, and refine the final model. We also exploit GPU parallelization to evaluate hypotheses efficiently, enabling registration from thousands of correspondences in under a second on average. With only …

Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models have shown remarkable success in robotic manipulation, yet their ability to execute long-horizon tasks remains limited by insufficient long- term memory modeling. Existing methods either rely on implicit temporal representations within policy networks, where historical information can be gradually diluted, or maintain explicit memory buffers that suffer from redundancy, noise accumulation, and inefficient retrieval. Vision-language models now grade robot videos, and text placed beside the frames can change their verdicts. On clips where the robot is losing progress, we add one log line saying the robot is making progress. Across Gemini, Qwen and GPT judges, this flips correct verdicts to progress 10 to 35 percentage points more often than a neutral line does. A one-line warning that the log may be wrong removes most of this effect. Selected fake "task complete" claims flip half of Qwen's correct verdicts, against a tenth for unrelated log lines. They have no detectable effect on Gemini.

Deformable linear objects (DLO) pose a coupled perception and control challenge: their slender geometry makes precise localization difficult, while their deformations depend on object-specific physical properties. To address this challenge, we propose PS-DLO, a property- and spatially aware DLO manipulation policy. First, contrastive image-text learning maps the initial observation to categorical descriptions of DLO properties, providing explicit physical and structural priors for action generation. Second, SAM3 extracts mask-guided features from future observations, which are distilled into …

Humanoid robots have recently achieved remarkable success in motion tracking. However, during real-world deployment, robots inevitably encounter dynamics gaps arising from either extra physical disturbances or inaccurate simulation modeling, resulting in a significant training-deployment gap. Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models map a language instruction and the current observation directly to actions, without checking whether the instruction has been completed. For long-horizon tasks, a single failed step therefore goes unnoticed and leaves the whole task unfinished. Such failed episodes, however, often end with the task partially complete. Moreover, the unfinished steps are reusable atomic skills that recur across demonstrations. A failed attempt can thus be recovered by composing with atomic skills. We propose RoboDuo, a closed-loop dual-system framework that uses code as the …

Safe indoor operation requires autonomous tracking of objects that are not directly visible to the robot. Optical non-line-of-sight (NLoS) methods depend on ambient lighting and scene geometry or on weak multi-bounce returns that need long acquisitions. Millimeter-wave (mmWave) radar offers an attractive alternative: walls act as reflectors for mmWave signals, and frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) radars enable fast, practical measurement of range, angle, and velocity. However, the low resolution of these radars leads to spatially ambiguous observations. The Doppler information, …

With fixed synthetic layouts the column absorbs up to 70% of all test points; with randomized layouts the sink moves to the stair, predicted at 4.5-5.4x its true share across three training seeds. Robots that learn from people often see several valid ways to do the same task: pass an obstacle on the left or on the right, open the microwave or move the kettle first. A policy that re-decides at every step can waver between these ways mid-task. We ask when the action head (the part of a policy that turns the state into actions) matters, and how it should make this choice. On a controlled task, heads that sample one way succeed far more often than a head that averages the ways when the demonstrations contain several ways and the state gives no hint which to take (+0.72 success with two …

Predicting the short-term future trajectory of a person from RGB-D cameras is a key capability for mobile robots navigating in dynamic and human populated environment. The key challenge to deploying learned predictors on real robots is the train-deploy pipeline gap. Training data are often prepared with an idealized, smoothed ground truth, whereas at inference, the model is fed noisy estimates from pose detectors and depth sensors. The model is therefore evaluated on an input distribution it never encountered during training. Most existing models rely on recurrent neural networks (RNNs) or …

Abstract摘要
Long-horizon manipulation requires actions whose validity depends on earlier interactions, yet visual progress can conceal missing task prerequisites. We propose RoboLongR, an offline-to-online framework that learns history-dependent rewards to guide policy adaptation to new tasks. Its central objective is causal consistency: aligning rewarded progress with prerequisites supported by execution history. Stage-shuffle supervision encourages execution-order sensitivity, recurrent memory preserves evidence of earlier interactions, and two-round training refines trajectory segments using predicted …

Distributed Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) and Edge AI networks increasingly depend on public-key authentication and key-establishment mechanisms that are vulnerable to cryptographically relevant Quantum Computers (QC). Shor's algorithm threatens widely deployed asymmetric primitives, while Grover's algorithm reduces the effective security margins of symmetric and hash-based mechanisms. Although Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) provides a migration path, its larger public keys, ciphertexts, and signatures introduce additional computation, memory, communication, storage, and packet-fragmentation …

Abstract摘要
Language is a natural way to command robots, but converting a single instruction into a long-horizon, contact-rich hand-object interaction remains challenging: synthesized references are noisy, human-to-robot retargeting introduces embodiment bias, and fixed-reference tracking lets small errors snowball. We address this with AdaDexTrack, a modulator-in-the-loop framework for language-conditioned manipulation tracking. A distilled generalist tracker serves as the skill carrier, while a tightly aligned modulator performs three feedback corrections: reference modulation (continual adjustment of …

Abstract摘要
Video world models (VWMs) are rapidly emerging as scalable neural simulators for robotic manipulation. However, most benchmarks only evaluate them as open-world video generators, using Vision-Language Models (VLMs) that lack strict 3D spatial and kinematic reasoning. To bridge this gap, we introduce RoboWorM, a comprehensive, deployment-aware benchmark that leverages known hardware priors such as robot kinematic trees and fixed camera configurations, to systematically examine structural and spatiotemporal fidelity. RoboWorM curates 1,605 episodes across single-arm, bimanual, and humanoid …

Abstract摘要
Deploying a language-guided navigation policy in a new building usually means watching it fail. Public-benchmark VLAs degrade scene by scene as layout, appearance, and language drift, and the standard fix of teleoperating fresh trajectories on site does not scale. We replace human demonstration with a single brief iPhone scan. Scan2Instruction compiles that scan into a complete training environment, automatically synthesizing executable navigation episodes with grounded instructions. PRPT-KS then adapts the policy through a closed-form Pareto utility read directly off the reconstructed scene, …

We present a principled, analytical framework for segmenting multiple independently moving rigid objects during single camera motion, built directly upon the OWL perception function. OWL encodes two fundamental visual motion cues, perceived looming $L$ and perceived rotation $\omega$, into a single closed-form representation of relative 3D structure. A key consequence of this structure is that the unit direction of relative translation $\hat{t}$ is analytically recoverable per image point from $L$ and $\omega$ alone. All points belonging to a non-rotating rigid body share the same $\hat{t}$, …

Abstract摘要
Vision-Language Models (VLMs) have demonstrated impressive performance when integrated into robot manipulation pipelines, but real-world evaluation of VLM capabilities on downstream robotics tasks is both difficult and expensive to scale. We propose that spatial and temporal ordering tasks using images from stereo and wrist cameras attached to real-world robots are particularly well-suited for evaluating visual reasoning capabilities, as they assess skills directly applicable to robots. We evaluate VLM reasoning abilities on three questions: ordering shuffled frames conditioned on a language …

Abstract摘要
Simulation is widely used in autonomous-driving validation, but matching task outputs between real and synthetic images does not guarantee that a system relies on the same visual evidence. This creates a validation gap for transfer, especially in safety-critical perception functions. We present Concept-Decisive Feature Fidelity (C-DFF), a concept-level mechanism-parity diagnostic for paired real-synthetic evaluation. Starting from decisive evidence extracted from a frozen system-under-test (SUT), C-DFF projects that evidence into a shared semantic concept space using off-the-shelf …

Embodied perception requires positional representations that capture both physical geometry and the spatial and temporal extent of observations. We introduce POD-RoPE (Physical Observation Distribution RoPE), which represents token observation footprints as distributions over camera centers, viewing directions, and sampling times. Under independent sampling, expected rotations encode relative relationships between distributions; when each distribution collapses to a single address, the construction recovers pointwise RoPE. The same rotation statistics support Q/K matching and …

Floor traction influences wheel-slip behavior, dead-reckoning accuracy, and the navigation performance of wheeled mobile robots that rely on wheel odometry. As these robots become increasingly common in GNSS-denied indoor environments, including automated manufacturing and retail facilities, their onboard measurements could also be used to characterize floor conditions and improve localization. In this study, a skid-steer robot was driven over five floor surfaces with distinct traction characteristics using commanded velocity profiles designed to induce wheel slip through repeated …
Many robot manipulation videos do not indicate whether the task was successfully completed. RoboJev-27B is an open-weight vision-language model that takes a task instruction, 10 frames of a manipulation attempt, and (if available) final frames from auxiliary cameras and predicts whether the robot accomplished the task. RoboJev-27B is a variant of JEV-27B-VL, trained with a rank-32 LoRA adapter on the language model only (keeping the vision encoder frozen) using 52,598 episode records. It also uses a source-specific KL penalty that applies only to research data, anchoring predictions closer to …

This paper introduces a structure-preserving quantum representation of rigid-body transformations and serial-manipulator kinematics, establishing a correspondence between classical kinematic models and parameterized quantum circuits. A robot in a home it has never seen must open doors, drawers, lids and taps whose physics a picture does not show. Instructions such as "open the drawer halfway, gently" depend on that physics: how far a part travels, how it resists, and what locks it. We present Open-World Law-to-Action (L2A). A vision-language model (VLM) proposes, for each movable part, its motions, the terms of its law of motion, and what may lock it. Each proposal becomes a prior with a floor, so that touch can always overturn it. The robot identifies each part's law online by Bayesian linear regression with closed-form …

Abstract摘要
Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models are bottlenecked by the scarcity of robot data. Egocentric human manipulation videos offer an abundant, diverse, and semantically-rich alternative that inherently captures manipulation intent. However, the embodiment gap makes it difficult to extract action-relevant representations from these videos. From the perspective of action execution, human hands and robots share analogous manipulation primitives---reaching, grasping, placing---yet exhibit distinct kinematics tied to their embodiments. This might motivate our key approach: egocentric video …

Fault diagnosis during regulated motion requires informative signals even when feedback attenuates tracking deviations. This paper develops an energy-based diagnostic framework that constructs mechanical port-power residuals without a dedicated dynamic observer. Spectral Hamiltonian Algebraic Power Evaluation (SHAPE) combines port-Hamiltonian variables and differential flatness to generate nominal power references from planned motion for fully actuated mechanical systems with collocated actuation. Subtracting these references from commanded effort multiplied by measured flow yields residuals …
Vision-language-action (VLA) models have demonstrated strong capabilities in robotic manipulation, yet their reliance on dense, continuous-valued computation presents a fundamental challenge for energy-constrained deployment. Inspired by the sparse, event-driven signaling and temporal integration mechanisms of biological neurons, a promising alternative is to introduce spiking computation into VLA models. However, enabling such computation without restructuring pretrained policies or compromising closed-loop control remains an open challenge. To address this challenge, we introduce the …

Online distillation of vision-language-action (VLA) policies commonly relies on teacher action scores that an inference-only interface may not expose. Trajectory-only Adversarial Distillation (\gad{}) instead turns a fixed bank of teacher joint-position features into adaptive feedback: a discriminator compares feature marginals from teacher and student rollouts and supplies rewards for on-policy learning. The student interacts with the environment without online teacher queries or environment task rewards. On ManiSkill \texttt{PutOnPlateInScene25Main}, \gad{} improves OpenVLA-OFT (7B) from …

Continuous aerial tracking often requires multiple drones to maintain target coverage over long periods. During handoff, the receiving UAV may lack prior target observations and must actively acquire a usable view without disrupting the sender's ongoing coverage. This work introduces HARP, a handoff-aware recovery planner that registers bounded sender predictions in the receiver's local map, distinguishes field-of-view failure from physical occlusion, and generates failure-specific yaw, translation, and parallax viewpoints. Running a language model and a dense 3D map on one device means the two share one memory, and exceeding its limit is an out-of-memory failure. Map systems that keep a bounded working set bound it by a count of keyframes, but the memory one keyframe occupies varies widely with what it carries, so a count does not control what the working set occupies. The unit of admission is as poorly matched, since a radius around the pose, a fixed cell, or the graph neighbors of the last matched keyframe all move parts of the map that are not needed. We therefore propose two decisions. First, the memory the …

Robot policy evaluation informs deployment decisions and policy improvement, but physical testing and simulator preparation require substantial effort. World models offer a complementary route through closed-loop interaction in generated environments. Dexterous manipulation requires robots to leverage existing datasets for rapid skill acquisition while maintaining safety during real-world deployment to prevent damage to the robot or its surroundings. Offline-to-online safe reinforcement learning (O2O safe RL) provides a promising solution for this problem by leveraging prior experience for online improvement under safety constraints, thereby mitigating the sample inefficiency and exploration risk of learning safe policies from scratch. A dexterous hand can change an object's pose without setting it down. This survey covers 113 learning-based methods that attempt it, the hands they run on, the simulators they train in, and how they report results. Almost half the corpus trains that way, nearly all of it in one simulator, whose own successors are barely used. A second and faster-growing branch learns from teleoperated demonstration instead, through …

Control barrier functions (CBFs) support collision avoidance, yet dense dynamic encounters can leave a vehicle with no feasible command. Geometric refinements and soft constraints help preserve motion choices. Using these choices also requires accounting for the vehicle's changing turning response. For a steering-limited bicycle, braking can lower closing speed while slowing the lateral motion needed before an obstacle arrives. We propose SCET-CBF, a speed-calibrated soft guidance law for one-step dynamic navigation. A short lateral escape maneuver gives an allowable approach speed. Its speed …

A component an agent builds from a prompt can satisfy it and still break the system it joins, because the prompt omits what its neighbours assume of it. The artifact to hand over is computed, not written. A SysML v2 requirement with assumed and required constraints is an assume/guarantee contract, so when a system requirement is decomposed over fixed neighbours, the open component's requirement is the contract quotient, the weakest sound one, and again a SysML v2 requirement. Its required constraints carry the neighbours' assumptions, which a requirement for the mission alone drops and unit …

Deploying humanoid task policies requires reliable runtime monitors that anticipate unrecoverable falls in time to trigger a fallback. We formulate this task as learning the stochastic, finite-horizon recoverability envelope of a given fallback policy. Consequently, they recover only a fraction of the true envelope, leaving them prone to optimistic hallucinations for out-of-distribution (OOD) …

Deep learning approaches and their hardware implementations have made it possible to endow robots with extraordinary perceptual capabilities. In addition, they can also benefit from advances in Automated Planning, allowing them to autonomously solve complex tasks. This gap results in limitations that affect its performance, …

Abstract摘要
Autonomous vehicles (AVs) operating in dynamic, challenging conditions such as intersections and roundabouts must guarantee collision avoidance under uncertainty while maintaining real-time feasibility. Most existing planners struggle to simultaneously guarantee both requirements. Chance-constrained formulations embed safety constraints directly in the optimization but become infeasible as uncertainty compounds; deterministic planners provide feasible solutions but fail to address the uncertainty that causes collisions; end-to-end learned policies provide neither guarantee in an interpretable …

Abstract摘要
We present RAIWAY, an in-house wheeled bipedal robot with 20-inch wheels, together with a contact-informed control approach for rolling locomotion across irregular and discontinuous terrain. Such locomotion is fundamentally contact-dominated, governed by local wheel--terrain interaction that is impractical to instrument directly and depends on more than terrain geometry alone. The proposed framework exploits the contact information available in simulation, distilling multi-contact events into a latent representation. At deployment, the controller infers this representation online from …

Abstract摘要
Real-world environments undergo continual semi-static changes, requiring a memory representation that captures both the spatial and temporal evolution of a scene. Existing spatio-temporal memories for robots typically rely either on structured representations, which are limited to the entities and attributes captured during construction, or on image-based memories, which are constrained to previously observed viewpoints. We introduce GEMS, a framework that combines a persistent spatio-temporal 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) map with an agentic reasoning pipeline. The 3DGS map is reconstructed …

Abstract摘要
Embodied vision-language models must answer questions from partial, evolving observations. Their success depends on both the reasoning capability selected and the evidence available to it. Expert routers adapt internal computation, while tool-augmented systems acquire external evidence; choosing these independently can leave a suitable expert without the evidence it needs. We introduce EKT-Router, a bounded framework that jointly selects a capability expert, optional knowledge, and perceptual tools. Outcome-derived signatures represent the overlapping strengths of General, Spatial Reasoning, …
